Kavi Sammelan and Mushaira: Raunak Gupta

Prayagraj, 13 Sept (HS): In memory of the late Shakir

Hussain Tashna Kanpuri, founder of Bazm-e-Ahbaab, poets mesmerized the audience

with their soulful lines at the Adab Ghar in Kareli. They also made the

audience laugh with their excellent compositions, and also awakened Indian

civilization and society.

A glimpse of national unity was also seen in the Kavi

Sammelan and Mushaira. Chief guest, Civil Defence Divisional Officer Raunak

Gupta, was honored by Amjad Hussain Ravi, son of founding member of

Bazm-e-Ahbaab, Shakir Hussain Tashna, and current president, by presenting him

a bouquet and a shawl. After the poetic gathering, chaired by Israr Niazi and

conducted by Bakhtiyar Yusuf, five people were honored with the late Tashna

Kanpuri Samman, while ten others were honored with certificates from the

Bazm-e-Ahbaab. Poets Aslam Allahabadi, Farmood Allahabadi, Waqif Ansari, Dr.

Qamar Abdi, Dr. Mohammad Shahid Khan, Aslam Nizami, Sunil Danish, Dr. Rahul

Shukla, Ram Lakhan Chaurasia, Shahid Safar, Suhail Akhtar, and event organizer

Amjad Hussain Ravi captivated the audience with exquisite couplets and

excellent compositions.

Raunak Gupta said that the proximity of elders and respect

for them is what places us in the ranks of civilized society, and only then is

one worthy of respect. Other speakers praised the contributions of Iqbal Mahir

and Shakir Hussain Tashna to poetry and Urdu literature. Israr Niazi said that

the heights Iqbal Mahir and Tashna Kanpuri have elevated to the standard of

poetry need to be honed and preserved with great care by contemporary poets.

Organizers Amjad Hussain Ravi and Suhail Akhtar thanked all the guests. Asif

Usmani, Shahab Hanafi, Moin Habibi, Asad Qureshi, Syed Mohammad Askari, Asad

Hussain Tabi, Mahmood Khan, Mohammad Shariq etc. were present in the program.
