Lucknow, 13 Sept (HS): Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) national

president and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati has described the

'New Delhi Declaration' issued during the 18th BRICS summit held in New Delhi

as an important diplomatic achievement. She said that amidst the US policies

regarding Ukraine and Iran, increasing global tensions, conflicts and economic

crisis caused by trade tariffs, the unanimous issuance of the 140-paragraph

declaration of the BRICS countries is a sign of mutual understanding and

diplomatic acumen.

At a press conference in Lucknow on Sunday, Mayawati said

that the desire to further strengthen ties among the BRICS countries is

encouraging. She added that moving forward towards the development of a BRICS

currency could also prove to be an important step.

Referring to the Palestinian issue, the BSP chief said that

it is important to support a two-state solution and an independent Palestinian

state based on the 1967 borders, along with a commitment to combat terrorism at

all levels. Citing Pahalgam, she said India's stance on terrorism has received

significant support and is commendable.

Regarding relations with China, Mayawati said that both

countries should avoid turning their differences into disputes and should move

forward by considering each other as partners in development. She said that

this approach will yield results in the future. Furthermore, it would be

appropriate to resolve the border dispute between the two countries soon.

The government should sympathetically consider the demands

of 58,000 Panchayat Assistants: Mayawati appealed to the Uttar Pradesh

government to sympathetically consider the demands of the state's approximately

58,000 Panchayat Assistants. She said that Panchayat Assistants have been

protesting near the Green Eco Garden in Lucknow for the past few days,

demanding various demands, including a respectable honorarium increase and

permanent employment instead of contractual employment.

The BSP chief said the government should consider the

demands of the Panchayat Assistants sympathetically. She said it would be

better if their problems were properly addressed.

Abolished the post of Chief Sector Incharge: Mayawati also

detailed the decisions taken at a meeting held at the party's state office in

Lucknow on September 3. She said that to accelerate the party's work on a war

footing, the BSP organization has been divided into three sectors. Uttar

Pradesh and Uttarakhand have been placed in Sector 1, and she will personally

oversee them. Other states in the country, where the party's organization is

active, have been divided into two equal sectors. Central sector in-charges

have been appointed for these sectors.

Mayawati said she would keep in touch with them from time to

time. She added that the position of Chief Sector Incharge has been abolished.

Now, the Sector Incharges will submit their reports to the party's National

Vice President, Anand Kumar, who will then report on their work to her.

'Akash Anand is working at the behest of his father-in-law':

Mayawati accused her nephew, Akash Anand, of acting under the influence of his

father-in-law, Ashok Siddhartha. She dismissed the reports about her health as

baseless, saying she was perfectly healthy. However, Akash Anand was spreading

rumors about her illness. She claimed that proof of this was a phone call Akash

Anand made to party in-charge Alok Kumar. She said Akash had inquired about her

health and wanted to know whether Behanji was feeling unwell. According

to Mayawati, Alok Kumar replied that she was perfectly fine. Akash Anand then

told her not to tell her that he had called. The BSP chief said that Akash

Anand's motive behind this phone call could be both good and bad. She alleged

that Akash is not acting on his own discretion, but rather under the influence

of Ashok Siddhartha.
