Guwahati, 13 September (HS): BJP MLA and former Nagaon Congress MP Pradyut Bordoloi launched a sharp attack on the Congress, alleging that the opposition party no longer has the courage to approach people directly and seek their votes.
Taking a jibe at the Congress, Bordoloi said the party would now have to confine itself to hotels and resorts instead of reaching out to the people. His remarks came amid the ongoing political activities in Assam ahead of the Nagaon Lok Sabha by-election.
Bordoloi alleged that the Congress was avoiding direct interaction with the electorate as it was aware of the public mood. He said the party's political activities were increasingly being restricted to closed-door meetings and comfortable stays in hotels and resorts.
The BJP legislator's remarks came as political parties intensified their preparations for the Nagaon bypoll, with the Congress yet to announce its candidate.-----------
