Guwahati, 13 September (HS): Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday said the newly constructed railway flyover at Chinamara in Jorhat would significantly improve connectivity and ease the long-standing traffic congestion in the area.
In a social media post, Sarma said the important infrastructure project would eliminate prolonged waiting at the railway level crossing, allowing vehicles to move more smoothly. He said connectivity between Jorhat and the subdivision headquarters of Mariani and Titabor would become faster and more convenient with the opening of the flyover.
The Chief Minister also highlighted its benefits for daily commuters, saying access to major educational institutions, healthcare centres, markets and other essential service hubs in Jorhat city would become considerably easier.
Sarma said the project would also strengthen road connectivity and commercial links between Jorhat and neighbouring Nagaland, thereby contributing to smoother movement of people and goods.
He described the Chinamara railway flyover as a significant addition to Jorhat’s transport infrastructure and said it would provide relief to commuters who have faced delays at the railway crossing for years.-----------
