New Delhi, 12 September (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a bilateral meeting with Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in New Delhi on Saturday, on the sidelines of the 18th BRICS Summit.

The meeting focused on strengthening the close and growing partnership between India and the United Arab Emirates. The two leaders reviewed bilateral cooperation and discussed ways to further advance ties in areas of mutual interest.

India and the UAE have significantly expanded their engagement in recent years, with cooperation covering trade, investment, energy, technology, defence, infrastructure and people-to-people ties. Both sides have also been working to deepen economic cooperation and explore new opportunities in emerging sectors.

Sheikh Khaled is leading the UAE delegation at the BRICS Summit, representing UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. His participation highlights the UAE's active engagement with the expanded BRICS grouping.

The leaders also exchanged views on regional and international developments, while emphasising the importance of continued cooperation between the two countries.

The meeting took place as India hosted the two-day BRICS Summit in New Delhi on Saturday and Sunday, bringing together leaders and representatives of member and partner countries to discuss global economic and strategic issues.
