Lucknow, 12 Sept (HS): “Inspired by the esteemed Prime

Minister Shri @narendramodi ji, the Ministry of Education is continuously

advancing an innovative effort to connect our ancient tradition of knowledge

with modern knowledge through the Book Festival held annually in different

parts of the country. In this same series, the 5th Gomti Book Festival was

inaugurated today in Lucknow. Heartfelt congratulations to all children and

young friends, along with the best wishes for the auspicious success of the

Book Festival,” remarked UP CM in a post on X.

On Saturday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath

kicked off the 5th annual Gomti Book Festival at Lucknow University. The event running

from September 12 to September 20, 2026 (nine days) at Lucknow University

campus in Lucknow. Organizers include the National Book Trust (NBT), the Uttar

Pradesh government, and Lucknow University. Around 250 book stands representing

more than 120 publishers. Books are shown in Hindi, English, Urdu, Awadhi, and

other Indian languages.

Reading Habit: During the inauguration, CM Yogi advised

youngsters and students to spend less time on social media and instead develop

a strong reading habit in order to obtain a deeper understanding of society and

the globe.

Literary conversations, children's activities, book releases, and panel

sessions on women's identity, heritage, science, and spirituality are among the

events planned for the nine-day festival.
