Mumbai, 12 Sept

(HS): The Coastal Security Force detained a cargo ship suspected to be involved

in smuggling. Six crew members were arrested in Mumbai coastal area. The action

was initiated based on intelligence information on Thursday, when the ship was

moving in a suspicious manner near Offshore Oil Ring during night.

Force seized illegally transported liquor and Rs 10 lakh cash. The area is very

sensitive and those arrested are being interrogated. The security in a coastal

region has been beefed up..

On 26 November

2008 Ajmal Kasab and his associates had arrived in Colaba through sea route.

The RDX explosives used in serial blasts in Mumbai on 12 March 1993 was also

brought via sea in Raigad district.
