Bridgetown, September 12 (H.S.): Indian batter Harleen Deol has joined defending champions Barbados Tridents for the remainder of the 2026 Women’s Caribbean Premier League (WCPL) season. The move will see Deol make her debut in the Women’s Caribbean Premier League.
The 28-year-old has already arrived in Barbados and will become the team’s fifth overseas player.
Deol is currently not part of either India’s senior squad or the India A team. As a result, she is expected to remain with the Barbados Tridents for the duration of the tournament.
Her arrival further strengthens the Indian contingent in the 2026 Women’s Caribbean Premier League. Of the 20 available overseas-player slots, five are now occupied by Indian players. Alongside Deol, Kiran Navgire and Pooja Vastrakar are part of the Barbados Tridents, while Shikha Pandey and Yastika Bhatia represent the Trinbago Knight Riders.
Deol has played 28 T20 Internationals for India. Across 20 innings, she has scored 311 runs at a strike rate of 92.01. Her most recent appearance for India came against Australia in March.
Deol has also represented Gujarat Giants and UP Warriorz in the Women’s Premier League. In 28 WPL appearances, she has accumulated 649 runs at a strike rate of 115.68.
The Barbados Tridents began their title defence on September 5 with a 21-run defeat against the Trinbago Knight Riders. The defending champions have two fixtures scheduled this weekend.
They will face the Jamaica Empress on Saturday before taking on the Guyana Amazon Warriors on Sunday.
