
Bhubaneswar, 12 September (H.S.): From the coffee plantations of Koraput to the global platform of the BRICS India 2026 Summit, Odisha’s local produce is gaining international visibility. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Saturday expressed pride over Koraput Coffee being showcased at the two-day summit in New Delhi.
Taking to social media platform X, Majhi said he had been highlighting Odisha’s opportunities, strengths and potential on global platforms in recent days and inviting the world to discover the State.
“Today, it is especially heartening to see Koraput Coffee telling another side of Odisha’s story at the BRICS India 2026 Summit,” Majhi said.
The Chief Minister said the presence of Koraput Coffee at the international summit exemplified the spirit of ‘Vocal for Local’, an initiative envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to provide indigenous products with greater opportunities to reach national and global markets.
Majhi described the recognition of Koraput Coffee at the summit as a matter of immense pride, saying it reflected the hard work of Odisha’s people and the richness of the State’s land.
“This is the Odisha I want the world to know — rooted in its soil, proud of its identity and confident in sharing its story with the world,” he said.
The Chief Minister said the showcasing of Koraput Coffee at the BRICS summit highlighted the potential of Odisha’s local products and reflected the growing recognition of the State’s distinctive strengths on the global stage.
