New Delhi, 11 September (H.S.):

Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to the victims of the horrific 9/11 terrorist attacks in the United States on the 25th anniversary of the tragedy and reiterated India’s unwavering stance against terrorism. He said terrorism has claimed the lives of countless people across the world and that, although the threat continues to evolve, India’s resolve to oppose terrorism in all its forms and manifestations remains steadfast.

In a post on the social media platform X on Friday, the Prime Minister expressed solidarity with the families whose lives were changed forever by the horrific attacks of September 11, 2001. He also expressed India’s solidarity with all ongoing efforts to combat terrorism.

The Prime Minister said India has been a victim of cross-border terrorism for several decades and, for this reason, has remained at the forefront of the fight against terrorism. He said that while the threat of terrorism may continue to assume new forms, India will continue to oppose terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.

The Prime Minister said that even 25 years after the horrific 9/11 attacks, the victims continue to be remembered and honoured. He expressed solidarity with the families whose lives were changed forever by the attacks. On the occasion, Modi also shared several photographs from his visit to the 9/11 Memorial and Museum during his visit to the United States in 2014.

It may be recalled that the series of terrorist attacks carried out in the United States on September 11, 2001, claimed the lives of thousands of people. The attacks gave a new direction to the global fight against terrorism.
