Pune, 11 Sept (HS): The Ganesh Mandals will have to

register with the Food and Drug Administration for distribution of Prasad or Food

to the devotees. The procedure will be prescribed soon by the FDA.

The FDA has specified rules pertaining to sanitary

conditions and food safety. The rules will be applicable to all Ganesh Mandals,

which are required to register with the FDA. Clarity about home-made food items,

however, has not been made.

FDA has formed special squads to examine

distribution of Prasad and food during the ten day festival.
