
Guwahati, 11 September (HS): A businessman was allegedly abducted from Birubari in Guwahati in a sensational incident, with police later rescuing him from a secret location in Changsari and arresting two persons in connection with the case.
According to information available, the businessman, identified as Bhaskar Medhi, was allegedly forcibly taken away in a Nagaland-registered Scorpio vehicle. The abductors reportedly demanded ₹2 lakh from his family as ransom for his release.
Acting on information, Birubari police launched an operation and traced the businessman to a secret location in Changsari, where he was safely rescued. Police also arrested two alleged abductors, identified as Iftikar Hussain and Sahab Ali, in connection with the incident.
The Scorpio allegedly used in the abduction, along with mobile phones believed to be linked to the crime, was seized by the police. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the circumstances behind the abduction and identify any other persons involved in the incident.-----------
