Pune, 10 Sept (HS): The Purple Dots Initiative portal was launched in Pune under

the Union Government’s Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities

(DEPwD). Resident District Collector Jyoti Kadam stated that efforts to

disseminate the message of the activity to the person on the last rung of the social

ladder.

The Purple Dots Initiative will help in

facilitating jobs and services for the PwD. Pune is the 12th

district in India to implement the project.

So far, Pune has prepared 1,02,530 UDID

cards (Unique Disability Identification Cards). Information about the project

will be spread through social organisations and government machinery.

Technical training, skill development and

opportunities for employment will be made available to the Pwd.
