New Delhi, 10 September (H.S.): ESTIC 2026 (Emerging Technology, Science, Innovation & Collaboration Summit), a major event dedicated to science, technology and innovation, will be held at Bharat Mandapam from October 27 to 29. The three-day event will bring together scientists, researchers, industry representatives, startups, policymakers, academics and experts in innovation from India and abroad on a common platform.

During the summit, extensive discussions will be held on emerging areas such as artificial intelligence (AI), quantum technology, space science, biotechnology, deep tech, the blue economy, semiconductors, cybersecurity and sustainable development. In addition, exhibitions, technical sessions, expert lectures, startup showcases, business-to-business (B2B) meetings and special programmes aimed at promoting industry-academia collaboration will also be organised.

Principal Scientific Adviser Professor Ajay Kumar Sood said on Thursday that three Nobel laureates will participate in the conclave. More than 3,000 delegates are expected to attend the event, with a significant proportion of participants likely to be young people.

He said the objective of the conclave is to promote collaboration in science and technology, encourage innovation, strengthen partnerships between research institutions and industry, and create new opportunities towards establishing India as a global hub for science and technology. Participation has also been proposed from more than 19 Central ministries, scientific institutions, industry organisations and international representatives.

On the occasion, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology and Earth Sciences, Dr Jitendra Singh, said that India is continuing to achieve new milestones under the Deep Ocean Mission. The Deep Ocean Mission will take India’s scientific capabilities to new heights and is enabling the country to make rapid progress in the field of the blue economy.

He said that the sector had not received the requisite attention for several decades, but the government is now working extensively to ensure better utilisation of marine resources and create new opportunities for economic growth. The Union Minister said the government is undertaking large-scale efforts to promote the blue economy.
