New Delhi, 10 September (H.S.):

In view of preparations for the 18th BRICS Summit and the security arrangements being put in place in the national capital, public access to Rashtrapati Bhavan, the Rashtrapati Bhavan Museum and Amrit Udyan will remain closed from September 11 to 13. The ‘Change of Guard’ ceremony scheduled to be held at the forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhavan on Saturday, September 12, will also not be conducted.

According to a press release issued by the President’s Secretariat on Thursday, public visits to Rashtrapati Bhavan, the Rashtrapati Bhavan Museum and Amrit Udyan will remain suspended from September 11 to 13. The ‘Change of Guard’ ceremony will also not be held during this period.

The 18th BRICS Leaders’ Summit and Business Forum are being held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi from September 11 to 13. In view of the expected participation of leaders and representatives from around 30 countries, extensive security and traffic arrangements have been put in place across the capital. As part of these measures, public movement at key government establishments, including Rashtrapati Bhavan, has been temporarily restricted.

In view of the BRICS Summit, Central and Delhi Government offices in the capital will remain closed on September 11. Schools and courts will also observe a holiday. To ensure smooth traffic movement during the summit and minimise inconvenience to the public, traffic restrictions and special arrangements have been implemented in various parts of Delhi.

Security arrangements have been further strengthened, particularly in the New Delhi area, in view of the movement of foreign leaders and delegations attending the BRICS Summit. The administration has also appealed to the public to avoid unnecessary travel during these days and comply with traffic-related advisories and directions.
