Port of Spain, 01 September (H.S.): Three of Trinidad and Tobago’s greatest modern cricketers, Dwayne Bravo, Kieron Pollard and Sunil Narine, have been honoured for their illustrious careers, with a stand at the historic Queen’s Park Oval renamed the ‘Bravo, Pollard and Narine Stand’.

The Queen’s Park Cricket Club (QPCC) unveiled the newly named stand on Monday as part of celebrations marking Trinidad and Tobago’s 64th Independence Day. The stand was previously known as the ‘Trini Posse Stand’.

The honour recognises the trio’s contributions to international and franchise cricket, as well as their significant roles in the global growth of T20 cricket. All three have been prominent figures in Trinidad and Tobago cricket and have played a major role in enhancing the influence of Caribbean T20 cricket around the world.

With their names now added to the stadium, the Queen’s Park Oval will also carry the legacy of several other Trinidad and Tobago cricketing greats. The stadium is home to the Brian Lara Pavilion, the Deryck Murray Players’ Gallery, the Jeffrey Stollmeyer Stand, the Learie Constantine Stand, the Gerry Gomez Media Centre and the Cyril L. Duprey Stand.

Special achievements in T20 cricket

Kieron Pollard is the most-capped player in T20 cricket, having featured in more than 700 matches. He has scored over 14,000 runs and taken more than 330 wickets in the format.

Dwayne Bravo has been among the most successful all-rounders in T20 cricket. He claimed 631 wickets during his career, the most in men’s T20 cricket at the time of his retirement. He also scored nearly 7,000 runs.

Sunil Narine, meanwhile, recently became only the second bowler in history to reach the milestone of 650 wickets in T20 cricket. He is also the leading wicket-taker in the history of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL).

All three players have won multiple titles in the Indian Premier League, Caribbean Premier League and several other major T20 leagues around the world, establishing themselves as iconic figures in the format.

Three legends reunite with the same team

The three legends are currently associated with the Trinbago Knight Riders for their 2026 Caribbean Premier League campaign in Trinidad and Tobago. Pollard and Narine are playing for the team, while Bravo is part of the coaching staff.

The Queen’s Park Cricket Club said the renaming of the stand was not merely a tribute to the players’ statistics and titles, but also a recognition of their journey from Trinidad and Tobago to the highest level of world cricket. It also honours the inspiration they have provided to a new generation of cricketers.
