Mumbai, 1 September (H.S.): RRP Defense Limited and ESC BAZ, a developer of electro-optical observation systems, have entered into an exclusive association for India to introduce ESC BAZ’s Diamond observation system in the Indian market and explore opportunities in international markets.

The association is aimed at combining ESC BAZ’s technology capabilities with RRP Defense’s manufacturing and market presence. According to the companies, the partnership will focus on applications in surveillance and observation, including defence, border security, critical infrastructure, perimeter protection and tactical operations.

The Diamond system is designed to provide imaging capabilities in low-light and complete-darkness conditions. The company said the system incorporates AI-enabled detection and analytics to support observation and identification requirements. It is designed for both fixed and tactical deployment, including use on masts, towers and rapidly repositionable platforms.

According to information provided by RRP Defense, the system offers an 80-degree field of view and resolution of up to 4,240 x 2,832. The technology is being positioned for applications where continuous monitoring and situational awareness are required.

RRP Defense said the association provides an opportunity to develop a new business segment around advanced observation and surveillance technologies in India. The company also plans to explore manufacturing and localisation possibilities, with an objective of subsequently addressing selected international markets from India.

The company said the global military electro-optical and infrared (EO/IR) market is estimated at around US$11.1 billion in 2025, while the Indian military EO/IR segment represents an estimated opportunity of about US$580 million. These figures form part of RRP Defense’s assessment of the potential market for the technology.

RRP Defense said Diamond could contribute around 30 per cent of the potential revenue opportunity within the emerging business segment, based on its current business assessment. The company did not provide details of specific orders or revenue secured through the association.

The partnership comes amid growing requirements for surveillance systems capable of operating in challenging environmental and lighting conditions. Such systems have potential applications in monitoring borders, defence installations, strategic infrastructure and other sensitive locations.

RRP Defense said its objective is to move beyond technology distribution towards manufacturing, localisation and deployment in India, while exploring opportunities in overseas markets.

The company said the association with ESC BAZ would support its plans to expand its presence in specialised defence technology segments and contribute to the development of indigenous manufacturing capabilities in the sector.
