New Delhi, 01 September (H.S.): Folk artists from Odisha’s Ganjam and Gajapati districts, who were visiting the national capital, met President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Tuesday. During the interaction, the President emphasised the vital role of education in individual and social progress and urged the artists to encourage the younger generation to pursue education and develop essential skills.

President Murmu said education plays a crucial role in advancing both individuals and society. She urged the artists to motivate and support young people in pursuing education and acquiring relevant skills.

She also stressed the importance of remaining connected to India’s rich cultural heritage and traditions while embracing modern development and progress. The President encouraged the artists to maintain a balance between modernity and their cultural roots.

On the occasion, the artists presented the President with a traditional work of art. President Murmu interacted warmly with the artists and showed keen interest in their traditional attire and cultural performances. A group photograph was also taken with the artists at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
