Guwahati, 01 September (HS): BJP Assam Pradesh spokesperson Mita Nath Bora on Tuesday welcomed India’s 7.8% real GDP growth in Q1 FY 2026–27, calling it a reflection of the country’s strong economic fundamentals under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.

According to the latest MoSPI estimates, real GVA grew by 8.2%, while manufacturing expanded 9.2 %, financial services 12.1 per cent and gross fixed capital formation 11.9%.

Bora said the growth, achieved amid global geopolitical and economic uncertainties, demonstrated India’s resilience and strong domestic demand. She said the figures would further strengthen the country’s journey towards Viksit Bharat 2047 and the vision of a self-reliant India.----------
