New Delhi, 01 September (H.S.): The Kakroach Janata Party (CJP) has decided to withdraw its proposed protest scheduled for September 5. CJP spokesperson Saurav Das announced the withdrawal before the Supreme Court on Tuesday. In response, a bench headed by Chief Justice of India Suryakant observed that if both sides were willing, a resolution could be found in any matter.

During the hearing, the Central government sought the quashing of FIRs registered against those who had participated in the protests. It was during the hearing on the government’s plea that Saurav Das announced the withdrawal of the proposed demonstration.

It may be recalled that the CJP had announced plans to organise a march in Delhi from India Gate to the Police Headquarters on Jai Singh Marg, near Jantar Mantar. In view of the proposed march, the Delhi Police had stepped up security arrangements at several key locations.

However, according to the police, permission had not been granted for the CJP’s proposed September 5 march. The police had also stated that it had not received any application from the CJP seeking permission to hold the demonstration.
