Lucknow, 01 Sept (HS): Amid preparations for the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly
elections, the BJP has begun ramping up its social media strategy. The
Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, which runs from September 17th to October
17th, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday, will feature digital platforms
alongside public relations. The BJP plans to disseminate the government's plans
and achievements to the public through door-to-door outreach, meetings, and
street corner meetings, as well as Reels, WhatsApp, digital platforms, and
social media influencers.
Emphasis on social media ahead of rally speeches: The BJP no longer wants to
limit its election message to meetings and rallies. The party is working to
reach young people, especially those who have benefited from central and state
government schemes, through short videos and reels. These videos will highlight
how government schemes have transformed people's lives. Party workers will be
responsible for spreading these stories to as many people as possible on social
media platforms.
Preparation to respond to the opposition's narrative: In a workshop for the
Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, BJP workers and officials were briefed on
social media strategies. They were given tips on how to counter the issues
raised and narratives created by the opposition with facts and the government's
achievements. The party aims to create a strong narrative in favor of the
government on social media before the 2027 elections and ensure the BJP's
message reaches as many voters as possible.
