
Bhubaneswar, 01 September (H.S.): Odisha Lok Bhavan has received the prestigious Platinum Green Campus certification from the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC), securing an impressive 88 out of 100 points for its environmental sustainability initiatives.
The certification recognises the various measures undertaken at Lok Bhavan to promote environmentally responsible practices and efficient resource management. The IGBC assessment covered key areas including renewable energy, water conservation, biodiversity protection, waste management and clean mobility.
The recognition reflects Lok Bhavan’s continued efforts to make its premises more environmentally sustainable by focusing on resource conservation and the adoption of cleaner and greener practices within the public institution.
Sharing the achievement on social media platform X, Odisha Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati said the Platinum rating reflected the institution’s commitment to responsible governance, efficient use of resources and environmental sustainability.
“When governance goes green, the future grows stronger,” the Governor said, noting that Lok Bhavan had achieved the IGBC Green Campus Rating – Platinum with an exceptional score of 88/100.
He further said the initiative was inspired by the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a clean, sustainable and developed India. The Governor described the recognition as a “proud moment for Odisha” and a benchmark for green governance, adding that it represented another step towards building a sustainable future.
The Platinum certification places emphasis on Lok Bhavan’s efforts to integrate sustainability into the functioning and management of the institution, strengthening the state’s commitment to environmentally responsible governance.
