New Delhi, 07 August (H.S.): Vice-President C.P. Radhakrishnan will undertake a two-day visit to the Andaman and Nicobar Islands on August 8 and 9. During the visit, he will pay tribute to freedom fighters at the Cellular Jail National Memorial in Sri Vijaya Puram and participate in various programmes, including the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign.

According to the Vice-President’s Secretariat, C.P. Radhakrishnan will visit the Cellular Jail National Memorial in Sri Vijaya Puram on August 8, where he will pay homage at the Martyrs’ Pillar, honour the Swatantrya Jyoti, and visit the cell of Veer Savarkar. He will also witness a light and sound show based on India’s freedom struggle and the sacrifices of the nation’s brave freedom fighters.

On the second day of his visit, August 9, the Vice-President will hoist the national flag at Flag Point in Sri Vijaya Puram and participate in the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign. Later, he will attend the state-level programme ‘Tiranga Concert on Vande Mataram’ at the auditorium of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Institute of Technology (DBRAIT).

In the afternoon, the Vice-President will also visit the historic Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Island.
