SBI Reports 13.73% Rise in Q1 Net Profit to Rs 24,113 Crore
New Delhi, 07 August (H.S.): State Bank of India (SBI) has reported a 13.73 per cent year-on-year increase in consolidated net profit to Rs 24,113 crore for the first quarter of the current financial year 2026-27, covering the April-June period.

State Bank of India (SBI) has reported a 13.73 per cent year-on-year increase in consolidated net profit to Rs 24,113 crore for the first quarter of the current financial year 2026-27, covering the April-June period.

According to an exchange filing made by the bank on Friday, SBI's consolidated net profit stood at Rs 24,113 crore in the April-June quarter, compared with Rs 21,201.47 crore in the corresponding quarter of financial year 2025-26. The bank had reported a net profit of Rs 19,642.87 crore in the January-March quarter.

On a standalone basis, SBI's net profit increased 10.23 per cent year-on-year to Rs 21,121.22 crore during the quarter under review, compared with Rs 19,160.44 crore in the April-June quarter of financial year 2025-26.

The bank's total income rose to Rs 1.43 lakh crore during the quarter, from Rs 1.35 lakh crore in the corresponding period of the previous financial year. Total expenditure also increased to Rs 1.10 lakh crore, compared with Rs 1.04 lakh crore a year earlier.

SBI said provisions for non-performing assets (NPAs) declined to Rs 3,359 crore in the April-June quarter, compared with Rs 4,934 crore in the corresponding quarter of financial year 2025-26. However, the provision was higher than the Rs 3,140 crore recorded in the preceding January-March quarter.

The bank's gross non-performing assets (GNPA) ratio improved to 1.47 per cent as of June 30, 2026, from 1.49 per cent at the end of March 2026 and 1.83 per cent a year earlier.
