New Delhi, 07 August (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi will confer the highest honours on meritorious students during the 57th convocation ceremony of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi on Saturday. During the event, he will also inaugurate the AI-powered high-performance supercomputing facility ‘Param Pragya’ established at the institute’s Sonipat campus.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), Prime Minister Modi will address more than 3,000 graduating students during the ceremony, including 587 PhD scholars receiving their degrees. He will also present the institute’s most prestigious awards to outstanding students.

The honours to be conferred include the President’s Gold Medal, Director’s Gold Medal, Shankar Dayal Sharma Gold Medal and the Perfect Ten Gold Medal.

The Prime Minister will inaugurate ‘Param Pragya’, an artificial intelligence-driven high-performance supercomputing facility set up at IIT Delhi’s Sonipat campus. The state-of-the-art facility is expected to significantly enhance the institute’s capabilities in artificial intelligence, data science, advanced computing and interdisciplinary research.
