The national capital is set to once again emerge as a hub of global business activities, with the Bharatiya Vyapar Mahotsav 2026 scheduled to be held at Bharat Mandapam from August 12. The mega trade event is expected to become a major platform showcasing India’s economic growth and global trade ambitions.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate the Bharatiya Vyapar Mahotsav 2026. Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal and Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta will also attend the inaugural event.

The information was shared by Member of Parliament and National General Secretary of the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) Praveen Khandelwal during a press conference held here on Friday regarding the four-day event, which is being organised jointly by CAIT and the India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) from August 12 to 15.

Khandelwal said that the Bharatiya Vyapar Mahotsav 2026 (BVM 2026) aims to place India’s commercial, industrial and entrepreneurial capabilities on the global stage and is set to mark a new chapter in the country’s economic history.

He said Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate the festival on August 12 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. Along with him, Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and CAIT Strategic Advisor Smriti Irani will also be present. Several other Union ministers, senior officials, leading industry representatives and business delegations from various countries are also expected to participate in the event.

Khandelwal said the Bharatiya Vyapar Mahotsav 2026 is a historic initiative aimed at fulfilling Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of “Vocal for Local”, “Local to Global” and “Atmanirbhar Bharat”. The event will witness participation from representatives of more than 40 countries, over 700 exhibitors and thousands of investors.

He said the objective of the festival is to provide Indian manufacturers, traders, startups, MSMEs, women entrepreneurs, artisans and service sector professionals with a platform to expand their reach not only within India but also across global markets.

Khandelwal described the Bharatiya Vyapar Mahotsav as the country’s largest-ever “Made in India” trade event, dedicated entirely to Indian products, services, technologies and innovations. More than 700 stalls from different states will participate in the festival, which is expected to attract lakhs of business visitors, institutional buyers, industrialists and entrepreneurs.

He added that participation by business delegations and buyers from over 40 countries will give the event the character of a truly global business platform.

According to Khandelwal, the biggest feature of the festival is that it will bring together manufacturers, exporters, startups, large industries, women entrepreneurs, rural artisans, traditional businesses and modern technology companies on a single platform.

During the four-day event, activities including buyer-seller meetings, B2B and B2G networking sessions, investment and export dialogues, startup showcases, technology exhibitions and panel discussions on specialised themes will be organised to create new opportunities for business expansion.
