New Delhi, 06 August (H.S.): During the Monsoon Session of Parliament on Thursday, Opposition MPs staged a protest inside the Parliament premises against alleged irregularities in donations received at the Ayodhya Ram Temple and the reported harsh police action against students during a protest movement.
Opposition lawmakers gathered between the new Parliament building and the Constitution House, raising slogans and demanding answers from Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The MPs assembled near the Gandhi statue and protested against the central government, seeking accountability over the alleged use of force against students and the controversy surrounding the Ram Temple donations.
The protesting MPs carried a large poster that read, Amit Shah, Give Answers.
The demonstration was attended by Congress General Secretary K.C. Venugopal, Samajwadi Party MPs Dharmendra Yadav and Awadhesh Prasad, along with several lawmakers from the Congress, Samajwadi Party, and other Opposition parties.
Opposition MPs alleged that excessive force was used against protesters during the student movement and accused the government of avoiding accountability on the issue. They also demanded an impartial investigation into the alleged irregularities related to donations at the Ayodhya Ram Temple.
