Nagpur, 05 Aug
(HS): Doctors across Maharashtra working at Government hospitals have
threatened to launch indefinite strike from Midnight of August 5 to 6 am of August
06. This time the doctors under the banner of Indian Medical Association (IMA)
have decided to close even to refrain from attending emergency services and surgeries.
If the decision on demands are not taken by the government by 6 am of August 6,
the strike will be continued indefinitely.
The IMA is
getting support of Maharashtra Resident Doctors Association (MARD), Association
of State Medical Interns and Super-speciality State Association. Some other
associations are expected to support the proposed strike.
The major
demands are clarification about BHMS – CCMP registration or postponing the
process immediately; the decision on the pending demands of Resident Doctors
immediately.
Despite
discussions on several occasions the government has not given any positive
response. The quality of medical education, security of patients and public
health management is losing faith of the society.
The patients in
need of urgent attention will be affected due to the strike.
