Acting West Delhi Lions captain Ayush Doseja praised his team's all-round performance after their victory over South Delhi Superstarz in the Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2026, saying the players executed their plans perfectly with a positive mindset.

Doseja said, This was a very important win for us. After yesterday's defeat, we wanted to make a strong comeback with a positive approach. We prepared well, stayed confident, and executed our strategy exactly as planned. As captain, I am extremely pleased with the way every player accepted responsibility and contributed to the team's success.

He reserved special praise for the match's standout performer, Mayank Gusain. Gusain claimed three wickets for just 13 runs in his four-over spell before scoring an unbeaten 19 off 10 balls to steer West Delhi Lions to victory.

Mayank bowled exceptionally well, Doseja said. He is an outstanding all-rounder, but today it was his bowling that changed the course of the match. Taking three wickets while conceding only 13 runs in four overs in a T20 game is a remarkable achievement. He made the biggest contribution to our victory and fully deserved the Player of the Match award.

Reflecting on his own innings, Doseja said, When I came in to bat, the situation was challenging because we had already lost a couple of early wickets. My plan was to spend a few deliveries assessing the conditions. Once I started finding the gaps, I played positive cricket and focused on chasing down the target as quickly as possible.

Speaking about the rain-affected conditions, he said, The rain forced us to make some changes to our plans and also required adjustments to the playing XI. However, every member of the squad was prepared for the opportunity. The players adapted well to the conditions and contributed significantly to the team's victory.

With this win, West Delhi Lions registered their second victory in three matches in the DPL 2026 season and moved to four points in the tournament standings.
