New Delhi, 05 August (H.S.): The Supreme Court on Wednesday granted interim bail to Anwar Dhebar, an accused in the alleged corruption case involving the Chhattisgarh State Marketing Corporation Limited (CSMCL). The order was passed by a Bench headed by Chief Justice of India Surya Kant.

The Court directed Dhebar to remain outside Chhattisgarh during the period of interim bail and instructed him not to influence witnesses connected with the case.

Dhebar is also an accused in the widely publicised Chhattisgarh liquor scam, involving alleged irregularities exceeding ₹2,000 crore. The Supreme Court had earlier granted him bail in that case.

Anwar Dhebar was arrested on August 8, 2024, in connection with the alleged liquor scam.
