Lucknow, August 05 (HS): Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) acting
state president Anupam Mishra, reacting to Samajwadi Party (SP) national
president Akhilesh Yadav's statements on Wednesday, said that his changed
meaning of PDA merely reflects electoral opportunism. Those who
until yesterday defined PDA as backward, Dalit, and minority groups have now,
as elections approach, started talking about Brahmins and other upper caste
communities. The public is well aware of the political motive behind this
change.
Anupam Mishra said that those who have periodically made
disrespectful comments about the Sanatan tradition, its symbols, and its
associated beliefs, today's talk of social harmony and respect for all sections
of society does not seem natural to the public. The people of the state
understand well the difference between rhetoric and actual political conduct.
He said that the sudden expression of concern for upper
caste communities today appears to be merely part of an election strategy. If
this sentiment were genuine, it would have been reflected in his public
statements and political behavior even earlier.
Anupam Mishra said that the Rashtriya Lok Dal believes in a
politics of social harmony, respect, and inclusion of all sections of society.
The people of the state will no longer be influenced by mere slogans and
changed definitions, but will make their decisions based on the past conduct
and actions of the leaders.
