
New Delhi, 05 August (H.S.): Ahead of Raksha Bandhan, the Department of Posts has made special arrangements to ensure the timely delivery of rakhi consignments from Delhi to different parts of the country. The department will set up dedicated rakhi booking counters at 34 major post offices in Delhi, along with transit mail offices at Delhi Railway Station and New Delhi Railway Station, which will remain operational until August 22.
The Ministry of Communications said on Wednesday that the Department of Posts has advised customers to make maximum use of its 24 Speed Post and 48 Speed Post services. According to the department, these services provide secure delivery within the stipulated time frame. A money-back guarantee facility is also available in case of failure to deliver within the committed period.
The ministry stated that the 24 Speed Post service will be available at 35 designated booking centres across Delhi. Through this service, consignments from Delhi will be delivered quickly and within a guaranteed time frame to six major metropolitan cities, including Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Chennai, and Hyderabad.
The special rakhi booking facility will be available at 34 major post offices, including Ashok Vihar, Civil Lines, Chanakyapuri, Delhi GPO, New Delhi GPO, Indraprastha, Janakpuri, Krishna Nagar, Karol Bagh, Kalkaji, Lodhi Road, Sarojini Nagar, R.K. Puram, Ramesh Nagar, Rohini, Mayapuri, Malviya Nagar, and Mehrauli. Additionally, dedicated booking counters will also be set up at the transit mail offices located at Delhi Railway Station and New Delhi Railway Station.
The Department of Posts has appealed to citizens to send their rakhis in advance and take advantage of this special arrangement so that postal services remain smooth and efficient during the festive season.
