Nadda Reaches Flood-Hit Sivasagar by Helicopter, Reviews Relief Measures

Dibrugarh (Assam), 05 August (HS): Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare and Chemicals and Fertilizers, Jagat Prakash Nadda, on Wednesday visited Assam's worst flood-affected Sivasagar district as part of his three-day tour of Assam, Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh.

Nadda landed by helicopter at Nepalikhuti village in Sivasagar and travelled through the flood-hit areas on a tractor to assess the damage and ongoing relief operations. He was accompanied by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Health Minister Ashok Singhal, Ministers Keshab Mahanta and Pijush Hazarika, along with local MLAs and officials.

During the visit, the Union Minister inspected affected villages, relief camps, damaged houses and agricultural fields. He also interacted with flood-affected families and heard their concerns.

After completing his visit to Sivasagar, Nadda is scheduled to travel to Mon district in Nagaland to inspect flood-hit villages, relief camps and review relief operations, including in the Defence Colony and nearby areas.

Later in the day, he will return to Dibrugarh to hold a review meeting with Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and senior Assam government officials before attending local programmes.

On Thursday, Nadda will visit Yazali in Arunachal Pradesh's Keyi Panyor district to inspect areas affected by flash floods and cloudbursts. He will review the damage to roads, bridges and relief camps, interact with affected families, and later chair a review meeting with the Arunachal Pradesh government in Itanagar before returning to New Delhi via Guwahati.---------------
