Bhubaneswar, 05 August (H.S.) : Odisha's Panchayati Raj & Drinking Water Minister Rabi Narayan Naik on Wednesday reviewed the flood situation in Kendujhar district and directed officials to expedite restoration work while ensuring uninterrupted emergency services for affected residents.

Chairing a high-level review meeting at the Kendujhar Circuit House, the Minister assessed the extent of damage caused by the recent floods and took stock of the restoration and relief measures being implemented by various government departments.

The meeting was attended by Patna MLA Akhila Chandra Naik, Superintendent of Police Kusalkar Nitin Dagudu, Divisional Forest Officer Dhanraj Hanumant Dhamdhere, Special Development Council Chairperson Mamita Naik, Additional District Collector Rabindra Kumar Pradhan, Chief Development Officer-cum-Executive Officer of the Zilla Parishad Kumar Nagabhusan, along with other senior district officials.

During the review, officials submitted detailed reports on the damage to roads, bridges, drinking water infrastructure, electricity networks, agricultural land, and forest areas. They also briefed the Minister on the progress of restoring road connectivity, repairing water supply systems, deploying emergency response teams, and distributing relief materials in flood-affected villages.

Expressing satisfaction with the coordinated response of the district administration, Naik appreciated the prompt efforts of all departments in restoring essential services. He directed officials to strengthen inter-departmental coordination, ensure uninterrupted emergency assistance, and remain prepared to respond swiftly to any further challenges arising from the flood situation.

The Minister also emphasised the importance of continuous monitoring of the situation and instructed the administration to provide timely relief and assistance to all affected families until normalcy is fully restored across the district.
