New Delhi, 05 August (H.S.): The Delhi High Court on Wednesday declined to entertain a petition seeking directions to the government to formulate a policy for introducing employment-oriented courses in educational institutions.

A Bench headed by Chief Justice D.K. Upadhyaya refused to hear the matter, observing that the issue falls within the domain of government policy.

The High Court said it could not issue any directions in the matter, stating that policy formulation is the prerogative of the government. The Court further observed that it could not entertain a writ petition under Article 226 of the Constitution seeking such relief.

The Bench advised the petitioner to submit a formal representation to the government. It directed that the government consider the representation and provide an appropriate response to the petitioner.

The petition had been filed by Sunil Kumar Sharma.
