Hooghly, 05 August (H.S.): The police have arrested three directors of a private nursing institute in Arambagh for their alleged involvement in a fraud case related to nursing course admission and registration. The arrested individuals have been identified as Dr. Mukul Ahmed, Sheikh Syed Ahmed, and Bobby Chowdhury.

According to the complaint, a student who had passed from a vocational board was allegedly promised admission into a nursing course, change of board, and registration facilities. In return, she was allegedly made to pay several lakhs of rupees in multiple installments.

Later, the student raised doubts over the authenticity of the documents provided to her, including the admit card and marksheet. It was alleged that documents issued in the name of an academic council from another state were fake.

Following this, the student lodged a complaint at Arambagh Police Station. The police initiated an investigation based on the complaint and, after preliminary findings, arrested the three accused on Tuesday night.

Police sources said that the investigation is not limited to the alleged financial fraud but also includes the issue of preparation of fake documents. Authorities are also trying to find out whether more people are involved in the alleged racket.

The three accused were produced before the court on Wednesday.
