With 12-digit Apaar ID, all educational documents of

students will remain secure and digitally verified throughout their lives

Digital IDs being created with parental consent,

facilitating admission process from one institution to another

Lucknow, August 05 (HS): Participating in the proceedings of

the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council on the third day of the 2026 monsoon

session, Minister of State for Basic Education (Independent Charge) Sandeep

Singh presented the government's position on important issues related to the

Basic Education Department and engaged in meaningful discussions. He stated

that under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the state

government is committed to taking Uttar Pradesh to new heights of progress with

a resolve for public welfare, good governance, and overall development.

During a discussion in the Legislative Council, Basic

Education Minister Sandeep Singh stated that the government has established a

transparent system to digitize children's educational records and securely

store all their documents in one place. In this regard, the Government of India

has launched the APAAR ID scheme for the benefit of students, under

which a unique 12-digit ID is created for each child. This digital ID will

prove useful to the child throughout their life, ensuring that all their

educational documents are digitally secured and instant digital verification is

possible upon visiting any educational institution. This will also greatly

facilitate the transfer and admission process of students from one institution

to another.

The Basic Education Minister clarified that this system is

being implemented with the full consent of parents. In accordance with the

instructions of the Government of India, the Director General of School

Education is motivating and inspiring district officials, school teachers, and

parents to create Apaar IDs for as many children as possible. He described this

as a very important and far-reaching step taken by the Central Government in

the broader interest of students.
