Washington, 04 August (H.S.): US President Donald Trump has issued a firm warning to Iran, describing the ongoing diplomatic engagement between the two countries as the final opportunity to reach an agreement. He indicated that the United States is prepared to give diplomacy one last chance before considering military options.

Speaking to reporters at the White House, Trump said the United States had decided to continue negotiations following appeals from several allied nations and Gulf partners. According to him, the talks could move forward rapidly if Iran adopts a constructive approach.

Trump said the immediate objective of the current negotiations is to restore safe and uninterrupted maritime navigation through the Strait of Hormuz. He expressed confidence that meaningful progress could be achieved on this issue in the near future.

He added that once the shipping issue is addressed, the second phase of the negotiations would focus on Iran's nuclear programme, which he described as significantly more complex.

The US President said his administration continues to prioritise a diplomatic resolution but made it clear that all other options remain on the table if the negotiations fail. He reiterated that Washington wants Iran to agree to a settlement that would help ensure regional stability and security.

There has been no immediate official response from Iran to Trump's latest remarks. The international community is now closely watching the proposed negotiations and their potential outcome.
