SEOUL, August 4 (HS/RIA Novosti) - The United States' confrontational actions on and off the Korean Peninsula, as well as those of Japan and South Korea, are crossing a red line and threaten peace and security in the Asia Pacific, a North Korean military observer warned in an article published by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).
Apparently, the US confrontational racket and reckless acts of Japan and the ROK which avail themselves of the former's moves have already crossed the red line and their ill-looking war alliance is approaching the international community, threatening global peace and security, the article read.
North Korea sees a trilateral military threat coming from the US, Japan and South Korea amid the ongoing strengthening of their joint military capabilities, as evidenced by the US-led RIMPAC multinational naval exercises held in the Pacific Ocean.
This year's exercise involved more than 30,000 military personnel, about 30 surface ships, five submarines, and at least190 aircraft. Over 500 naval and over 2,400 air drills were conducted. South Korea served as the combined naval forces commander for the first time, while Japan assumed the position of deputy commander of the joint task force.
The US is accelerating the transformation of the US Forces Command Japan into a unified command with independent operational functions and plans to deploy the Typhon medium-range missile system in South Korea following its deployment in Japan, the article read.
The threat posed by the trinity of the US, Japan and the ROK is being settled as a new security crisis in the Asia-Pacific region, the article read.
North Korea will respond to a new level of threat with a new level of deterrence, while keeping an eye on and deterring the emergence of a US-led axis of confrontation, which the commentator said undermines the security of the region and precipitates instability with the aim of establishing hegemony in the Asia-Pacific region.
