New Delhi, 04 August (H.S.): Global markets presented mixed cues on Tuesday. US equities ended the previous session with strong gains, while Dow Jones Futures continued to trade higher in early dealings. European markets also closed in positive territory during the last session, whereas Asian markets were witnessing mixed trading trends.

US markets extended their rally in the previous session amid growing optimism over the possibility of a diplomatic agreement with Iran. The S&P 500 advanced 110.78 points, or 1.48 per cent, to close at 7,600.50. The Nasdaq Composite surged 540.04 points, or 2.13 per cent, to settle at 25,913.90.

Meanwhile, Dow Jones Futures were trading 151.99 points, or 0.29 per cent, higher at 53,330.40 in early trade.

European markets also ended the previous session on a firm note. France's CAC 40 Index gained 104.18 points, or 1.21 per cent, to close at 8,613.82, while Germany's DAX Index climbed 372.07 points, or 1.43 per cent, to settle at 26,001.31. The UK's FTSE Index remained unchanged as the London market was closed for a holiday.

Asian markets traded on a mixed note on Tuesday. Of the nine major regional indices, five were trading lower while four remained in positive territory.

Indonesia's Jakarta Composite Index rose 0.58 per cent to 6,270.48. Singapore's Straits Times Index gained 0.30 per cent to 5,629.18. China's Shanghai Composite Index advanced 0.16 per cent to 3,815.59, while Thailand's SET Composite Index edged up 0.09 per cent to 1,623.36.

On the downside, Gift Nifty slipped 0.04 per cent to 24,656. Taiwan's Weighted Index declined 0.12 per cent to 43,335.92. South Korea's KOSPI recorded the sharpest fall among major Asian markets, dropping 1.08 per cent to 6,190.06.

Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index fell 98.40 points, or 0.38 per cent, to 25,911, while Japan's Nikkei Index declined 202.90 points, or 0.32 per cent, to trade at 63,552.
