
New Delhi, 31 August (H.S.): Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah and several other leaders on Monday paid heartfelt tributes to former President and Bharat Ratna awardee Pranab Mukherjee on his death anniversary.
Rajnath Singh, in a post on X, said that former President and Bharat Ratna Dr Pranab Mukherjee enriched India’s public life through his wisdom, political acumen and deep understanding of parliamentary traditions.
“His ability to bring together diverse viewpoints and build consensus on matters of national importance was a defining feature of his distinguished public life,” Singh said.
He added that Mukherjee’s dedicated service to the nation and his invaluable contribution to India’s democratic traditions would always be remembered with gratitude.
Amit Shah said that throughout his decades-long journey in public life, Pranab Mukherjee demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the nation and its constitutional values. His enduring legacy, Shah said, continues to inspire generations of emerging leaders.
Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said Mukherjee’s life, dedicated to the progress of the nation and society, would remain a source of inspiration for young people.
“Through your work and thoughts, you will always remain alive in the hearts of the people of the country,” Chouhan said.
Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Virendra Kumar described Mukherjee as an eminent figure in Indian politics and a symbol of scholarship, simplicity and dedication.
Paying tribute to the former President and Bharat Ratna awardee on his death anniversary, Kumar said Mukherjee’s invaluable contribution to strengthening democratic values and parliamentary traditions, while consistently placing national interests above all else as an experienced statesman, accomplished administrator and economic expert, would always be remembered.
