New Delhi, 31 August (H.S.): Action has been initiated to seal a play school in the Maujpur (Jafrabad) area in connection with a case involving the alleged sexual abuse of a child. The Delhi government has taken serious note of the horrific incident involving the child. Following directions from Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, the District Magistrate has initiated the process of sealing the school premises. A police investigation is currently underway. The Delhi government has directed the authorities to ensure the strictest possible action against those found responsible.

It may be recalled that a case involving the alleged sexual abuse of a minor came to light at a play school in Jafrabad. Based on a complaint lodged by the child’s family, police registered a case at Jafrabad Police Station on August 28 against the school director, principal, teacher and domestic helper under various stringent provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, the Juvenile Justice Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Police have taken the CCTV footage into custody and are conducting a detailed investigation into the case.
