Guwahati, 31 August (HS): Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday paid his heartfelt tribute to former President and Bharat Ratna awardee Pranab Mukherjee on his death anniversary.

In a social media post, Sarma remembered Mukherjee as a visionary statesman, wise thinker and able administrator who made significant contributions to the country’s development and progress during his long public life.

The Assam Chief Minister also recalled Mukherjee’s contribution to the development and progress of Assam, saying his support for the state would always be remembered.------------
