Directed by Vishal Chaturvedi, the devotional film ‘Hanuman Ansh’ has staged a remarkable turnaround at the box office, emerging as a major success. Inspired by the life of Neem Karoli Baba, the film was released in theatres on August 7 and initially had a sluggish start. It earned just Rs 10 lakh on its opening day, but its collections steadily improved following a positive response from audiences. In 24 days, the film has amassed Rs 47.33 crore in India.

The biggest surge in the film’s earnings came on its 24th day. According to reports, ‘Hanuman Ansh’ recorded a remarkable Rs 12.75 crore collection across more than 5,000 shows. During its first week, the film had collected only Rs 1.08 crore, while its earnings increased by merely around Rs 40 lakh in the second week. However, the positive audience response became clearly visible at the box office in the third week, when the film’s collections crossed the Rs 10 crore mark. Its momentum has continued into the fourth week as well.

Made on a modest budget of around Rs 2 crore, ‘Hanuman Ansh’ is now within striking distance of the Rs 50 crore milestone. Its current box-office performance has reportedly delivered the filmmakers returns of more than 20 times the production cost. Despite its slow beginning, the film’s fortunes changed dramatically as audiences embraced it and positive word-of-mouth gathered momentum.

The success of ‘Hanuman Ansh’ once again demonstrates that a compelling subject and an emotionally engaging narrative can achieve remarkable results at the box office, even when made on a limited budget.
