Raigad, 31 Aug (HS): CBI arrested a CGST Additional

Commissioner and GST Superintendent of Raigad, along with one other person,

while accepting a bribe of Rs 40 lakh, for disposing of stone mining royalty related

issue. The demand of Rs 1.50 crore was demanded, which was settled at Rs 40

lakh.

Additional Commissioner Vinay Kumar Kantheti,

Superintendent Rakesh Kumar Sinha and Narendra Rajput were arrested red handed

while accepting the bribe. A complaint was made by the stone mining company.

Narendra Rajput was mediator in the bribery case.

Following their arrest, CBI sleuths carried out

searches at various places connected to them and seized Rs 43 lakh cash and

jewellery worth Rs 90 lakh.

Further investigation was initiated.
