Morigaon (Assam), 31 August (HS): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday launched its election campaign for the upcoming Nagaon Lok Sabha constituency by-election with a massive public meeting at Lahorighat, attended by around 10,000 people.

The meeting was held in the presence of Assam Minister Pijush Hazarika. Several minority leaders and more than a hundred people joined the BJP, citing their support for Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s leadership and the party’s policies and ideology.

According to reports, some participants at the meeting took an oath in the name of Allah and expressed their intention to vote for the BJP in the upcoming by-election.

In a social media post, Hazarika said the people of Assam had already rejected the Congress and other opposition parties, claiming that the public was no longer interested in attending programmes organised by the opposition.

In another post, Hazarika said the BJP had begun preparations in full swing for the Nagaon Lok Sabha by-election. He urged party workers to work with dedication in the interest of the people and strengthen the BJP’s organisational base across the constituency.----------
