Silchar (Assam), 31 August (HS): Acting on source information regarding the transportation of NDPS substances, police set up a naka at Tolengram under Lakhipur Police Station in Assam’s Cachar district and intercepted a Maruti Suzuki Fronx vehicle.

During a search conducted in the presence of independent witnesses, police seized 10,000 Yaba tablets weighing 1.131 kg from the vehicle. The Maruti Fronx bearing registration number AS-11AE-5595 was also seized.

The apprehended person has been identified as Fakrul Hussain Chaudhury (32), son of Nur Islam Chaudhury, a resident of Binnakandi Chengjur Grant under Lakhipur Police Station in Cachar.

Further legal action is underway.-----------
