
New Delhi, 30 August (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday participated in a yoga session organised by the Yoga Federation of Uzbekistan in Tashkent during his two-day state visit to Uzbekistan.
PM Modi visited the venue and interacted with participants as they performed yoga. He also posed for a group photograph with the participants at the end of the session.
The yoga programme was held on the second day of Modi’s official visit to Uzbekistan, which began on Saturday, August 29. The Prime Minister is visiting the country at the invitation of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. This is Modi’s fourth visit to Uzbekistan since becoming Prime Minister.
During his visit, PM Modi is scheduled to hold delegation-level talks with President Mirziyoyev. The discussions are expected to cover key areas of bilateral cooperation, including trade and investment, defence, digital connectivity, energy, education and people-to-people ties.
PM Modi received a warm welcome from Mirziyoyev after arriving in Tashkent on Saturday. The two leaders also travelled together from the airport to the presidential palace and held a dinner meeting, reflecting the close and growing ties between India and Uzbekistan.
The visit is taking place against the backdrop of efforts by both countries to further deepen their strategic partnership and expand cooperation across multiple sectors.
After concluding his Uzbekistan visit, Modi is scheduled to travel to Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, where he will attend the 26th Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit from August 31 to September 1.
