
Tirumala, Aug 30 (HS): The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) will conduct a five-day Carireshti Yaga along with Varuna Yaga and Parjanya Shanti Homam from August 30 to September 3, praying for timely and abundant rainfall and the welfare and prosperity of people.
The rituals will be organised at the Dharmagiri Veda Vignana Peetham in Tirumala. A total of 32 Vedic, Shrauta and Smartha scholars will participate under the supervision of Peetham principal Kuppa Siva Subrahmanya Avadhani.
The programme will begin on August 30 with Ankurarpana, Ganapati Puja, Punyahavachanam and Ritwik Varanam between 7 pm and 8 pm.
The main rituals will be performed from August 31 to September 3 between 9.30 am and 12.30 pm. The programme will also include recitations from seven Vedic branches, besides the Ramayana, Sundarakanda, Virata Parva and Rishyasringa Dhyana.
As part of the rituals, Varuna and Parjanya Mantra Anushtanam will be performed at Gogarbham Dam. Evening sessions will include Agnihotra Anushtanam and Vedic recitations.
The five-day religious observance will conclude with Poornahuthi between 11 am and noon on September 3.
TTD is conducting the rituals with prayers for adequate rainfall as well as the prosperity and well-being of people across the state, country and the world.
