New Delhi, 30 August (H.S.): President Droupadi Murmu will attend the Joint Convocation Ceremony 2026 of the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) in Delhi on Monday. Outstanding students who have secured the highest cumulative grade point averages (CGPAs) will be honoured with gold medals during the ceremony.

According to the Union Ministry of Textiles, the ceremony will recognise graduating students for their academic excellence, creativity, dedication and achievements. Following the joint convocation, campus-wise degree distribution ceremonies will be organised, where graduating students will formally receive their degrees.

The Joint Convocation Ceremony 2026 will celebrate a generation of students who have learned to transform ideas into possibilities and creativity into meaningful impact. As they embark on their professional journeys, the graduates will carry with them the confidence to create new narratives, develop meaningful solutions and contribute to India’s evolving creative landscape.

Union Textiles Minister Giriraj Singh, distinguished dignitaries, members of the Board of Governors, senior officials, faculty members, scholars and graduating students from all 18 NIFT campuses across the country will attend the occasion.

Established in 1986 under the Ministry of Textiles, NIFT is a statutory institution governed by the NIFT Act, 2006. Over the years, the institute has emerged as a leading centre for fashion education, bringing together traditional arts and crafts, academic knowledge, design innovation, technology, creative thinking and industry engagement.

The institute has played an important role in developing skilled professionals and fostering innovation across India’s fashion and creative sectors.
